TAD PGS, Inc. Process Development Engineer in Maple Grove, Minnesota
We have an outstanding Contract position for aProcess Development Engineer to join a leading Company located in theMaple Grove, MNsurrounding area.
This is a great opportunity to join the injection molding team in our Maple Grove facility. Within this role, you'll work on a wide variety of technically challenging injection molding projects, bringing new solutions to our customers around the world. You will work closely with R&D and Manufacturing to bring new and challenging products to a commercial state. You'll develop and implement new technology that will enable unique design solutions as well as improve manufacturing robustness and efficiency. Responsibilities :
Develop robust injection molding processes using industry-standard methods
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment of design, manufacturing, and quality requirements
Prototype new components and provide samples to the team for performance testing
Execute project deliverables from initial sample components through design verification, process validation, and ultimately commercial transfer
Write clean and concise work instructions that can be understood by product builders
Contribute to technical reports, validations, and qualifications by capturing experimental results
Assists in completing proper documentation to meet quality systems requirements (e.g., BOMs, Routers, FMEAs, etc)
Write validation protocols and reports applicable to new processes
Gather and provide technical data for technical reviews
Develop solutions to a variety of complex problems, exercising authority and judgment within generally defined practices and policies to obtain solutions
Oversee development builds associated with the project using special work requests
Assist in developing qualified tooling and production equipment
Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to the engineering print package
Contribute ideas to or generate Intellectual Property submissions
May serve as molding component project lead
Establish and cultivate a wide range of business relationships to facilitate the completion of assignments
Basic Hiring Criteria :
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
Desired Qualifications :
Looking for someone with a strong mechanical background (mechanical engineering, polymers, injection molding)
Demonstrated ability to execute and follow through on project responsibilities
Ability to work well within a strong team environment
Injection molding/plastics experience - hands-on process development
Strong mechanical engineering background
Previous injection molding experience, materials background, and/or subsequent processing techniques are ideal
Highly motivated individual that can independently drive deliverables to completion through collaboration among team members and internal support staff
The candidate will need to have the ability to work cross-functionally and with other client sites
Basic understanding of DFM, medical device design control/quality systems, and the product development process (PLCP) is highly desired
Strong statistics background
